Vertical Pressure Leaf Filters

Vertical pressure leaf filters are an efficient system for separating solids and liquids when there are small filtration surfaces.

Easy to use and requiring little maintenance, vertical pressure leaf filters are composed of rectangular filtering leaves of different sizes vertically mounted on an outlet manifold installed in a pressure vessel.

The filtering elements are able to filter through both sides of the leaves. This means it is possible to customise operation of the filter according to the needs of the plant.

TECNIPLANT vertical pressure leaf filters are equipped with a filtering element cleaning device for removing the cake in two ways:

  1. Dry discharge
  2. Wet discharge

In the dry discharge configuration, the cake is removed with a high-frequency vibration system and is discharged through a connection flange on the bottom of the vessel.

In the wet discharge configuration, instead, the cake is removed with sprayers mounted in a horizontal device that oscillates at variable speed. In this case, the device cleans the entire filtration surface with powerful jets of water or solvent.

Candle Pressure Filters

At TECNIPLANT, we design candle pressure filters. These solutions are essentially used for the separation of solids and liquids.

It is worth pointing out that this type of filter is suitable for solids with dimensions ranging from 0.2 microns.

Candle pressure filters are in fact ideal for applications that require a high flow rate in relation to the filtration surface and rapid cleaning of the filtering elements.

The strong point of these filters is that there is no pre-coat and the accessories connected to it take up little space.

As a result, the candle pressure filters involve a simplified system that allows you to cut costs while respecting the environment.

Due to their shape, part of the filtered liquid is re-injected into the candles at the end of each filtration cycle.

In this way, the filtering element expands while the solids accumulated on its surface are removed, making the filtration area clean.

  • Titanium oxides
  • Caffeine
  • Starch

Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters

Horizontal pressure leaf filters are ideal for solid-liquid separation involving large filter surfaces.

Simple to use and requiring little maintenance, horizontal pressure leaf filters are essentially composed of a pressure vessel with filtering elements inside and a washing system.

The filtering elements consist of vertically mounted round leaves that filter through both sides. The leaves are the same shape and size. They are therefore interchangeable and ensure ease of maintenance of the filter and uniformity of the cake.

TECNIPLANT horizontal pressure leaf filters are also equipped with a cleaning device for removal of the cake that can clean the leaves in two ways:

Lastly, the filter leaves are held by a central shaft which also acts as a filtered liquid collector.
